Betty was born on September 4, 1934 in Big Spring, Texas to the late Thomas and Avisa (Keller) Campbell. At an early age she moved to Portales, NM with her family. While still a small child her parents passed away and she along with her siblings were taken in and raised by her oldest brother Raymond and his new bride Inez. Soon after the family moved by wagon to Idaho where her brothers worked in the mines, she lived there until she turned 16. Even as a young person Betty possessed a love for the Lord and wisdom. At age 16 she decided she did not want to be a burden on her brother and followed a traveling Evangelist to Kerrville, Texas and lived with a family she was familiar with. While in Kerrville she met Van McCormick who was attended Kerrville Bible Training. On February 20, 1954 she and Van United in Holy Matrimony. It was then she became an official adopted member of McCormick family. It was the beginning of a journey filled with love, service to others, and faithfulness. After marriage she followed Van to several towns where he began preaching Amarillo, Mexia, Lampasas, and finally settling in Clovis where they served for over 60 years. While in Clovis they were members of Eastside Church of Christ. Betty loved being able to help other people and staying in background. She enjoyed being a help and fulling needs of others in the congregation through visits, calls, cards, and her delicious homemade desserts. Betty will be remembered for devotion to Christ and his church, her genuine love for her family, and her unpretentious spirit . Her life began with many trails and difficulty however it was clear the Lord was gracious and faithful to her until the end.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Raymond Campbell and his wife Inez, Glen Campbell and his wife, Juanita, Frankie Campbell and his wife Joy, Tom Campbell and his wife Margaret, and Bonita Wilson.
