Fay Lucille Holloway Fruzia, 96, formerly of Abilene, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 in Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery.
Fay was born on September 29, 1921 in Conroe Texas, to Walker and Clara Holloway. She married Gerald Ozan Fruzia. After Gerald served in Panama in WWII, she accompanied him in his return to Panama to serve as a missionary for the Church of Christ. Then Gerald returned to military duty and served a second term in the service in French Morocco. As a couple they returned to Ghana for two 4-year terms of mission work. Throughout her life, both in the States and overseas, she shared her love of Jesus with everyone. She was kind and generous and moved with love and excellence in all her ways. Whether she lived overseas or stateside, she was a competent and highly regarded Bible teacher. She was affectionately known as Mama Fay by her beloved “children” in Ghana.
She was preceded by her parents and her husband.
Survivors include her daughter, Gerallyn Fay Osborn and her husband Gordon; her son Richard Terry Fruzia and his wife Karen; step-son, Gerald Ozan Fruzia, Jr. and his wife Zelda; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
