Faye Winona Davis

Faye Winona Davis, 89, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013 in a local medical center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, TX, with David King officiating. Burial will follow in Caps Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. Viewing will only be available during the visitation on Saturday, October 26, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Faye was born November 5, 1923 in Petrolia, Texas, the daughter of the late Oscar and Sula Underwood Sitton. Faye loved her family and gardening, and was a member of Second Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Joshua Davis, Jr.; four sisters; five brothers; and one grandson.

Survivors include two sons, George A. Davis and wife, Sheila of Breckenridge and Karol Davis and wife, Judy, of Abilene; grandchildren, Michael Allan Davis and wife, Sabrina, Melissa Davis-Belcher and husband, Mark, Dewayne Davis and wife, Abby, Brian Davis and wife, Lisa, Stephen Joshua Davis and wife, Christy, Jonathan Ashley Davis and wife, Katherine, Jessica Barton and husband, Nick, and Jenyse Gonzales and husband, Anthony. Survivors also include 20 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
