Florence "Flo" Wait

Flo was born June 1933 to Henry and Dolores Maynard in Johnson, VT, one of 10 children. She attended Cathedral High School in Burlington, VT (class of 1952.) She married James Lester in 1952 and they had been married almost 30 years when he died in 1982. Flo married Edward Wait in 1984. She is survived by Ed, her husband of 31 years; 3 sons, James, David, and Thomas (and wife, Ann) Lester; two daughters, Debra Beaupre and Donna (and husband, Clifton) Kirk; a stepson, Martin Wait; sisters, Pauline Flanders and Alma Marrier; sister-in-law, Joyce Maynard; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Flo spent her childhood and much of her adult life in Northern Vermont, where she raised her children and worked at General Electric for 20 years. After retirement, she and Ed moved to Abilene, TX in 1993, where she kept active in volunteer work, especially at KGNZ Christian Radio, Abilene Regional Medical Center and Meals On Wheels until she was injured in a fall in 2007.

Flo loved the Lord, and was active in her church until declining health prevented her from attending. We will miss her, but take comfort in the assurance that she is now with the Lord, and that we will see her again when we, too, pass from this life into eternity.
