Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church with Rev. Emilio Sosa officiating. **Mass will be livestreamed please click on link below to join livestream** Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. Friends and family are invited to a come & go viewing on Thursday, March 25, 2021 from 10:00 AM -6:00 PM at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home in Abilene. Mask will be required at both, viewing and Mass.
Florinda was born on August 29, 1939 in Kenedy, Texas to the late Carlos and Josefa(Salinas) Rodriguez. Her family later settled in Abilene in 1954. She married Crensencio Sigala, Jr. and were married over 50 years. She was devoted to her husband and two children. She especially loved her grandchildren as they came along. Florinda was naturally creative and excelled the abilities of even Martha Stewart. With her superb creativity her career as a florist was a perfect fit. She loved crafts, making quilts, sewing, needlepoint, decorating, and reading. She also enjoyed reading cooking and baking, her baking abilities could be seen in the beautiful cakes she decorated. In her spare time, she raised boxer dogs, and loved shopping flea markets and antique stores. She was a lifelong catholic and a member of St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cresencio Sigala, Jr.; son, Chris Sigala; brother, Johnny Rodriguez; sister, Lupe Munoz; nephew, Robert Simmons, Jr.; and brother-in-law, Marvin Henderson.
She is survived by her daughter, Christina and her husband Freddie Castro of Abilene; 4 grandchildren, Tres Castro, Lorraine Castro, Jason Sigala, and Nicole Sigala; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond Rodriguez and his wife Sylvia of Blue Mound, TX; sisters, Amparo and her husband Robert Simmons of Abilene, Eusevia Henderson of Garland, TX.
