Frances Marie Webb, 90, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012 in Comanche, TX. Services will be 2:00p.m., Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory St., Abilene with Dr. Phil Christopher officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Frances was born January 29, 1922 in Ira, TX to the late Louie and Clara Gilbreath Goldsmith. She was raised and attended schools in Abilene. She graduated from HSU and married Walter Webb here in Abilene. Frances taught school for 16 years in Richardson ISD and 8 years in Hawley and then helped her husband run his business, Southwest Communications until they both retired and moved back to the Abilene area.
She loved her farm and being outside. Frances also loved her family and cared for her mother for many years.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Walter Webb in 2009. After he passed, she lived at Whitestone Assisted Living in Comanche where she was very happy and made many new friends that were very special to her.
Survivors include a daughter, Marsha Cohorn and husband, Alvin of Comanche; a brother, Billy Ray Goldsmith of Baird; two grandchildren, John Cohorn and wife, Holly and Stephen Cohorn and fiancé, J'Nae of Austin; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
