This is his story. Eugenio and Petra Camarillo welcomed Frank into this world on January 23, 1928 in Brownsville, Texas. He spent his childhood years in Santa Rosa, Texas until joining the United States Air Force as an enlisted for 21 years, and then again rejoining in Civil Service for another 20 years at the Dyess Commissary. While stationed in South Carolina he met his future wife Betty, a marriage union of 76 years until his passing. He is survived by his wife Betty Camarillo as well as son Frankie and wife Donna, daughter Starr who passed at birth but lives in our hearts, son Barry and wife Becky. The family unit of survivors also includes 3 grandchildren families of Ryan and wife Shao, Bria and husband Greg, and Bridget followed by the great grandkids of Evangeline, Chase, Gideon, Layden and many relatives spread across the United States of America.
As a military family we were stationed in Spain and stateside at South Carolina, Alaska, Maine, retiring from 96 Svc Sq, SAC at Dyess AFB in Abilene, Texas. He was known across the globe but often referred to as Sir, MSgt Camarillo, or Mr C. His family knew him as Dad, Grandad and Gdad. He had a love of his country, family, and interests in fishing. He was baptized on February 28 1928 according to the Rite of the Roman Catholic Church and was a member of the Abilene First Church of the Nazarene.
We wish to express a heartfelt appreciation for Dad's care in his final days to the staff at Hendrick Center for Rehabilitation, Gentiva, Kinder Hearts Home Health and Hospice and a special thanks to Robert, Juan, Andre, Sean, Judy and Jordan. Thank You guys for helping us help him. Although Dad’s service on earth is finished, he has been accepted by God for his next service in heaven. Thank you Dad, we will see you there.
