Born to Joseph and Anna Lorenz, December 10, 1930 in Czechoslovakia. Frances came to the U.S. in 1955, she became a naturalized citizen in 1958, began working in 1961 and retired after 25 years as an Accountant from the Abilene State Supported Living Center. She married Earl W. LaFrance in 1977, the love of her life and best friend with whom she would travel, garden, and learn how to fish.
Frances knew and appreciated the value of a dollar, friends and family. She was the most giving and thoughtful woman one could ever hope to know, and she touched countless lives through her hands’ work. She learned to knit, sew, cross-stitch, crochet and paint with both water colors and oil paints. She knitted hats for newborns and crocheted afghans for nearly all that knew her. She loved flowers; if she wasn’t painting them, she was growing them. She never missed a holiday with her hubby, even if it was at his graveside. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were cherished beyond words; her dogs were spoiled (often eating better than she) and her extended family would never feel they were ‘extended.’
Frances is survived by her sons Earl J. LaFrance (wife Sandy), Alan L. LaFrance, Steven D. LaFrance and Jeffrey J. LaFrance, Sr (wife Judy); grandchildren Sara (Blue), Heather (Mark), Matthew, Jeffrey Jr (Hali)and Jessica (Mack); great grandchildren Jeffrey III, Landon and Robyn; brother Siegfried. Loved ones preceded in death include husband Earl W. LaFrance, parents Joseph and Anna Lorenz, brothers Joseph, Anton, Franz, Wenzel and Erich, and sisters Elizabeth and Marianne.
The family invite you to a visitation to celebrate Fran’s life at Elliott Hamil Funeral Home, Hwy 277, Friday, March 2nd from 5pm-7pm.
