

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Albert Ezeanya officiating. Interment will follow in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories. Visitation will be held on Wednesday beginning at 6:00 PM, at 7:00 pm the rosary will be recited as well as a time for friends and family to share memories of George.
George was born on November 20, 1974, in Abilene, Texas to the late Rebecca Loya Sosa and he considered Jesse Sosa as his dad. Due to his complexion, he gained the nickname from his mother, “cuervo”. George was raised in a close-knit family and during his younger years three generations of the family lived together with his aunts, being second moms and his cousins being more like siblings. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1994. He married the love of his life Angela Monique Gomez in 2006 and decided to renew their vows with the blessing of the church in 2012 at Sacred Heart Church.
He initially worked for Miller Lite now Reed Beverage. He started in the warehouse and was currently a driver. He made special connections with many of his clients he delivered to. He was a dedicated and hard worker. When not working he loved cheering on his Dallas Cowboys. He also loved wrestling his favorite wrestler was Pénta, “Cero Miedo”.
George will be remembered for his sense of humor. He enjoyed joking around and having fun. He loved being outside finding something to work on. His tool collection was unbelievable, so much so he did not even get to use them all. He was always on the go and enjoyed keeping busy. He gave to those he loved and was selfless. His legacy will live on.
He was preceded in death by his mother; mother-in-law, Margaret A Gomez; grandparents, Ruben and Georgia Loya.
He is survived by his devoted wife and “queen”, Angela Gonzales; children, Aaron Lopez (Leilani), Vincent Valenzuela, Aliyah Valenzuela, Daylen Gomez (Priscila), Isaac Gonzales and Jayvin Gonzales; one granddaughter and one on the way; father, Jesse Sosa; brother, Jason Loya (Alisha); numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and colleagues.
Serving as pallbearers are Carlos Duran, Isaac Garcia, Adam Moreno, Moses Loya, Ruben Loya, Rocky Guerra, Ismael Ramirez, Ruben Ramirez and JR Ramirez.
