The family will receive friends for a visitation at 6:00 PM on Thursday August 31, 2023 followed by a Rosary at 7:00 PM at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday September 1, 2023 at St. Francis Catholic Church with Father Innocent Eziesule officiating. Burial will follow at Abilene Municipal Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home in Abilene ,TX 79606.
Gilbert L. Guerrero was born and raised in Abilene, TX to Pascual Guerrero and Emilia Alvarez-Guerrero on October 09, 1950. He took pride in his work as an automotive painter for the family business. Gilbert loved watching football and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents, Pascual Guerrero and Emilia Alvarez Guerrero; daughter, Vera Guerrero; granddaughters, Cynthia Cortez and Ariel Guerrero; brothers, Richard, Pascual and Ruben Guerrero.
Gilbert is survived by his children; Jeri Lopez, Iris Guerra, Jessica Guerrero, Gilbert Guerrero and Michale Guerrero; brothers, Simon, Raymond, Freddy, Benjamin, David Guerrero and Joshua Ward; sisters, Patti and Emily Guerrero; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, niece and nephews.
