Harold Judd

Harold Jarvis Judd died Monday, February 21, 2011 in Palestine, Texas at the age of 95. Services will be at 11:00am, Friday, February 25, 2011 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3325 N. 12th. Burial will follow in the Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery. A visitation will be from 6-8pm on Thursday evening at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St.

Harold was born in Arizona on December 15, 1915 to Heleman and Clementina Judd. He was the first of 11 children to bless this union. His parents, as well as, brother Marvin Boyce Judd, sisters Beatrice Davis, Eva Lemoyne Davis, Elene Judd, and Belva Brown preceded him in death. His first wife Hettie Olive Brandon Hill died in 1990 and she was survived by her granddaughter Barbra Parker and her sons that Harold remained close to.

Harold was a true cowboy in his early years, driving cattle from Mexico to the states. He suffered from pain during his life that was the result of injuries in connection to this rugged lifestyle. Later he worked for the Burlington/Santa Fe Railroad for many years as an engineer until he retired. Harold was a member of the Scottish Rites Masons. He also was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Harold is survived by his wife Alma Butler Middleton and adopted daughters, Audrey (Raymond) Murphy of Abilene and Dana (Gary) Adams of Palestine and his granddaughters, Elizabeth (Doug) Berry of Abilene and April Dumont of Houston; brothers, David Dewey Judd (Elena) of Magna, UT and Martin Tracy Judd (Charlotte) of Smithfield, UT; sisters, Verdel Vance of Cleburne, TX, Alice Wood (Lee Rue) of Snowflake, AZ, and Margaret J. Eckert of San Marcos, CA; as well as nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
