Jacob Xaiver Hernandez

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, 3325 North 12th, Abilene, with Dennis White officiating. Burial will follow in Abilene City Cemetery, directed by Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 North 2nd Street, Abilene. The family will receive friends at a visitation 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Jacob was born January 10, 1996 to Rene Roy Rodriguez and Sylvia Hernandez in Abilene, Texas. He was a junior at Abilene High School where he was an honor student and participated in gymnastics for two years; weight training; and playing basketball and football. Jacob really enjoyed any type of sports and listening to music. He was very playful; liked other kids; always smiling; and loved his brothers and sisters. Jacob was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Patricia and Rumaldo Rodriguez; an aunt, Roxanna Rodriguez; and a brother, Marcus Rodriguez.

Survivors include his father, Rene Roy Rodriguez and wife, Deon, of Abilene; his mother, Sylvia Hernandez of Abilene; his siblings, Rea Rodriguez, Roxanna McFerrin, Romero Rodriguez, Meagan Rodriguez, Michael Rodriguez, Leighanna Rodriguez, Abel Rodriguez, Ashlee Rodriguez, Deon Rodriguez, Malachi Rodriguez, Caleb Rodriguez, Isaac Hernandez, Cassandra Hernandez, and Iris Rodriguez, all of Abilene; grandparents, Mary and Tony Hernandez, of Abilene; uncles, Randy Rodriguez, Rudy Rodriguez, both of Abilene, and Tony Hernandez, Jr. of Chicago; aunts, Rhonda Rodriguez and Patricia Hernandez, both of Abilene; nephews, Haydon McFerrin and Kylor McFerrin, both of Abilene; and many cousins.
