OBITUARY

Jerry Dwayne Fuller

November 9, 1941April 17, 2013

On Wednesday, April 17th, 2013, Jerry Dwayne Fuller was worshipping the beauty of God’s magnificent creation, while enjoying his love for riding his motorcycle through the Blue Ridge Mountains when God called him home to his reward in heaven. Jerry was born November 9, 1941 in Richland Parrish, Louisiana to Otis and Odis Fuller. Jerry graduated from Rayville High School in Rayville, Louisiana and enlisted in the Air Force. In 1962, he was transferred to Dyess AFB, Texas where he met and married the love of his life, Wanda Parsons Fuller of Abilene on June 27, 1964. Jerry continued to serve his country in the Air Force National Guard and the 490th Civil Affairs Reserve Unit. In January 1991, he was recalled to active service for Operation Desert Storm until he retired in 1993. Jerry was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Abilene, Texas and achieved the position of 32nd Degree Master Mason. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Otis Fuller of Rayville, Louisiana (1945); daughter Stacy Fuller of Abilene, Texas in 2007; and granddaughter, Victoria Robb of Dover, Ohio in 2008. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Wanda Fuller of Abilene, Texas; his mother, Odis Fuller of Rayville, Louisiana; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Jeffery Robb of Sewickley, Pennsylvania; daughter and son-in-law, Tara and Richard Kumple of Abilene, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Peggy Fuller of Rayville, Louisiana; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dayland and Kay Parsons of Abilene, and Wayland and Ellen Parsons of Bedford, Texas; five grandsons, Justin, Austin, Jackson and Jeffrey Robb, and Richard Kumple; and two granddaughters, Catherine and Hannah Fuller. Jerry was the picture of a proud grandfather and could talk and show pictures at a moment’s notice and never met a stranger no matter where he went and was loved by all. He served his God and his country proudly and will be sadly missed by all. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Southwest Park Baptist Church in Abilene, Texas, with Pastor Mike Woodard officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory Street, Abilene. I am so sorry to hear about Jerry! We knew the Fuller family since I grew up in Rayville. Actually saw Jackie when stopping to eat there on the way to see my brother in Ruston. Jackie shared that they were about to take fun ride near where we live now in North Carolina! My nephew married christy. Our heart goes out to the family, he was a great guy. My love to his mom!

My sympathy goes out to the Fuller family. Please find comfort in Ecclesiastes 9:5 where we read that our loved ones are peacefully asleep.

Angela, I feel very sad for you and your families loss. I really liked your dad. He was always very nice to me when I was working, and they would visit. It was obvious how much he loved you all. A true gentleman

Jerry will be missed by many. I wish I could have able to accepted his invitation to accompany him on what has turned out to be his final ride. We never know when our time on this earth will end. Jerry made the most of what time he had in this life and will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of those of us who knew and loved him. Ride on Jerry ride on, clear the way for those of us who will follow you down the road to heaven.
Wanda, Pam and I hold you in our hearts and prayers wishing you all the best.

Wanda, Tara, Angela and families, We will miss all the wonderful, fun filled times we had with Jerry. What a great guy who truly lived his faith. The grandchildren will certainly miss their Papa Jerry who loved them so very much. Give Grandma Fuller our deepest sympathy. Know that your Ohio family is praying for all of you.
