Joseph M. Carlile

Joseph “Joe” McDuff Carlile, 72, passed away Monday, October 1, 2012 in a local hospital. A memorial service will be 10:00a.m., Friday, October 5, 2012 in the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory St. with Clayton Pennington officiating.

Joe was born April 15, 1940 in Abilene to Harold and Loyce Parker Carlile.

After attending school, he joined the United States Marine Corp and served his country. Joe loved to watch wrestling, and loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his sisters, Rheba Holston and Elizabeth Carlile; and his son, William Shannon Boyd.

Survivors include his son, Kevin Carlile and wife, Pam of Abilene and Robert Boyd and wife, Lore of Baird; his daughter, Sharla Carlile of San Angelo; his sisters, Lillie Norris and husband, Robert of Hawley and Valta Masters and husband, Mike of Kingman, AZ; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
