Joyce was born on January 21, 1943, in Brownfield, Texas to the late John Robert Simon and Catherine Lewis (Weatherman) Simon. Joyce grew up in Loraine, Texas. She married Billy Odell Bilbrey, Sr. on September 17, 1960, in Abilene, Texas. She loved to play games with friends and family. She also loved to dance. She enjoyed fishing and having family gatherings. Above all she loved time with her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. She was a devoted follower of the Lord and was a member of North Lake Community Church at Lake Brownwood.
She is preceded in death by her son, John Curtis Bilbrey; her parents; three brothers, August Dwayne Simon, Odell Simon and Cecil Wayne Simon; four sisters, Joann Comacho, Margie Bell Caswell, Barbara Sue Agular and Dedra Franklin.
She is survived by her husband Billy Odell Bilbrey, Sr.; her children, Thelma Diann Bilbrey, Glenn and Sirena Bilbrey and Billy Odell Bilbrey, Jr.; 7 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; her younger sister, Gloria Ruth Savell; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home visitation will be held prior beginning at 9:00 AM also at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Oriana Cemetery in the Bilbrey family plot in Stonewall County.
