Joyce Guy Elam

A visitation for Joyce will be held Friday, December 27, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Highway 277 South, Abilene, Texas 79606. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM, in Elliott-Hamil's Chapel of Faith with Brother David Takacs officiating. Interment will follow at Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories.

Joyce was born on July 13, 1943, in Alexander City, AL. She and her family moved to Snyder as a young child. She graduated from Snyder High School in 1961.

She worked many years at the Snyder Daily News and for Snyder National Bank where she retired. A passionate fan of the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys, she could often be found cheering on her favorite teams. She also had a lifelong love for Elvis Presley, whose music brought her happiness and inspiration.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Marie Guy of Snyder, TX, and brothers, Lowell and Ralph Guy of Alexander City, AL.

She is survived by her children, Robert Elliott of Abilene, TX, Melissa Elam of Abilene, TX, and Henry (Becky) Elam of Mesa, AZ, and brother, Jim (Letha) Guy of Lago Vista, TX. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Ashley, Kaitlyn, Haley and Rylee Bruns of Abilene, TX, David Elliott (Aliyah) of Winston-Salem, NC, and Kyle Elam of Mesa, AZ. Her love extended to her great-grandchildren, Natalynn Adams, Grayson Clark and Emery Reed from Abilene, TX, and Beatrix Elliott from Winston-Salem NC.

She will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will love on in the hearts of those she loved.
