Juan was born on February 8, 1937 in Terlingua, Texas to Antonio and Isidra (Mireles) Almaguer. He wasn’t a man of many words, but when he spoke, he spoke with pride, experience and passion. Drawn to people like a magnet, he would befriend the most unlikely of people and bring out their inner light. He had the ability to command a room with his presence, yet be on the level with each and every person there. An expert in many things, yet a master of none.
Juan was undoubtedly the most experienced man his family has ever met. From fixing the house to fixing their lives, he would always find a way to make things better. He would not hesitate, and never waiver, when one of his family needed him. He was strong and bold, yet youthful and compassionate.
Juan is survived by his loving wife, Norma Z. Almaguer; his children, Guadalupe Porter, Linda Almaguer Reyes, Frankie Villarreal, and four other daughters and two other sons; his grandkids, Tristian J. Porter, Ashton L. Porter, Luis C. Herrera, Zoey I. Herrera, and Michael J. Reyes, as well as his other grandkids; and his three brothers, five sisters, and numerous extended family and friends.
Juan is leaving his legacy behind in his children, grandkids and his wife. His image is burned into their minds, and his love or his family will forever live on through his wife, Norma Z. Almaguer, and his kids, Linda A. Reyes, Guadalupe Porter and Frankie Villarreal. The Lord has grasped his soul and he has, is and forever will be watching over all of them. You are loved so very much and will be forever missed.
