Kelly Michelle Young

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 31, 2011, at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Highway 277 South, with Pastor Jim McCracken, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at a visitation 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2011 at the funeral home.

Kelly was born October 26, 1964 to Flora (Alva) and Carl Ewell in Abilene, Texas. She was employed by Patterson's Restaurant as a waitress.

"My mom, Kelly Young, loved life and all those she came in contact with. She loved her sons more than anything in the world and was the most selfless person I've ever known. She was quick to lend a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen. If you knew her, you knew where to find her just by listening to her laugh. Her laugh was loud and contagious and brought joy wherever she was. She never met a stranger and always made others feel welcome."

Kelly was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include two sons, Kyle Young of Abilene and Carl Young and wife, Ashley, of San Antonio, Texas; a brother, Stephen Ewell of Abilene; and two grandchildren, Slade Wesley Young and Laney Grace Young.
