Kenneth Lee Williams

Kenneth Lee (Pappy) Williams of Abilene joined his Lord and Savior on November 25, 2013 at the age of 60 years old. Mr. Williams was born October 28, 1953 in Lubbock, Texas to Walter and Cedaelia (Washburn) Williams. He graduated from O’Donnell High School in 1972. Kenneth married Margie Lee Brunette on May 27, 1972 in O’Donnell, Texas.

Kenneth retired from Taylor County Maintenance Department in June 2013. He operated “Pappy Can” maintenance service for several years. Kenneth also enjoyed working throughout the years as a farmer and ranch hand in the Lynn, Garza, Jones, and Fisher County areas. He was a loving father, grandfather, son and brother. His passion was watching his children and grandsons grow up. His family will remember him best for his words of wisdom and his love of animals, especially his dogs. Kenneth also loved Christmas and enjoyed helping others decorate for the season.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Margie; son and daughter in law, Benjy and Marylee Williams of Helotes; daughter and son in law BeLinda and Bobby Martin of Abilene. He left six grandsons, Gage & Logan Williams of Wall, Dylan and Austin Martin of Abilene, and C.L. and Haddon Flowers of Helotes; his mother Cedaelia Williams of Post; three brothers, Milton and Randy Williams of Post, Delwin of Seattle, Washington; sister and brother in law, Becky and Larry Moore of San Saba, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his father, Walter Williams.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 10:00a.m. on Friday, November 29, 2013 at the 2nd Baptist Church of Abilene, 901 Victoria St., Abilene, TX , with Reverend Ben Wilson officiating. The family will greet visitors at the home of BeLinda and Bobby Martin immediately following the memorial. Arrangements were handled by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, TX.
