Larry was born on April 6, 1948, in the Lake View community of Mississippi. He was the middle child born to the late James Eugene Frazier and Helen Blanche (Yount) Frazier. Around the age of five his family relocated from Mississippi to Wink, Texas. He attended local school and graduated from Wink High School in 1967. At a young age Larry began to cultivate a strong work ethic working alongside his father in the oilfield. In 1968 he was drafted into the United States Army, something that changed his life forever. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran and built relationships with the men he served with that he carried throughout life. After being honorably discharged in 1970 he came back home and married the love of his life, Kaye Frances Hadley on February 12, 1971. He began working for El Paso National Gas in Eunice, NM over the next several years his career took him to different places. The Frazier family eventually consisting of two daughters and one son settled in Levelland, Texas in 1985. He worked for Amoco/OXY for 32 years.
Larry enjoyed tinkering and fixing things. He was always working on something new. He could be counted on to lend a hand to help others when needed. He found the greatest joy in his grandkids. He was present for the birth of several and traveled many miles to watch them participate in different activities. He retired in 2008. In 2017 he relocated to Abilene to be more centrally located for his children and grandchildren. While living in Abilene he and Kaye visited Beltway Park Church-South. As a child he was raised in a loving Christian home then began cultivating his own personal relationship with God at Beltway.
He will be remembered as a hard worker, excellent provider, a loving and humble man. His legacy will live on in the lives of those who knew him, especially those who proudly call him husband, Daddy, and Granddaddy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Preston Ernest Frazier and James Eugene Frazier.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Kaye Frazier; his children, Karen Box and David Caudell, Chad and Lana Frazier and Missy and Dustin Klafka; his sisters, Susan and Ronnie Carmen and Phyllis and Terry McIver; his cherished grandchildren, Thomas and Ana Box, Audrey Frazier, Brayden Klafka, Colby Frazier, Lexi Klafka, Blayne Klafka, Hadley Frazier, Jake Frazier and Laramie Klafka; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and comrades.
