Lila Frances Rabon Dunn

Frances Dunn, 94, passed away Monday, April 16, 2012 at a local medical center. Graveside services will be 2:00p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012, in the Millersview Cemetery in Millersview, TX under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy 277 South. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 to 7p.m. at the funeral home.

Frances was born on June 24, 1917 in Stacy, TX to Rabe Rabon and Lila Dillard Rabon. She attended schools in Doole and graduated in 1935. Frances married Roland Dunn on September 18, 1938 in Melvin, TX and moved to Abilene from the Millersview area in 1940. She worked as a grocery store clerk for M-System for many years and was checker of the year in 1960. Frances was a homemaker as well as an avid gardener and loved her family and kids. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her life. She enjoyed living at The Windsor and had many friends that she loved to visit with daily.

Preceding her in death were her parents, and her husband Roland on February 7, 2005.

Survivors include her two sons, Don Dunn and wife, Patty of Abilene, and Ronald Dunn of Silver City, NM; one daughter, Barbara Singleterry and husband, Dale of Sanger, TX; two brothers, Johnny Rabon of Florida and Bobby Rabon and wife, Carolyn of Novice; two sisters, Noreta Fenton of Santa Anna and Pen Dement of Lubbock; five grandchildren, Randy Dunn, Michael Dunn and wife, Stephanie, Julie Frierson and husband, Kerry; Richard Dunn and wife, Kim, Dustin Dunn and wife, Stephanie; ten great-grandchildren, Ryan & Rance Dunn, Cody & Bailey Dunn, Dalton, Jacie, and Jordan Frierson, Chris, Ashley, and Hunter Dunn; and one great-great-grandchild, Rayden Dunn.
