

Lino Treviso Diaz, 72, died Monday, November 1, 2010 at Hendrick Medical Center Hospice. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 4th at St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church with Rev. Terry Brenon officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. Rosary will be 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3rd with prayer vigil to follow at the funeral home.
Born September 23, 1938 in Abilene, Texas, Lino was the son of Enrique V. and Martina (Treviso) Diaz. He married Elodia H. Flores of Sonora, Texas on August 21, 1965. Lino grew up attending St. Francis Catholic Church and later was a member of St. Vincent Pallotti. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Lino worked most of his life as a manual laborer and retired from Abilene ISD. He enjoyed baseball and attending athletic events, cheering for Abilene High and Texas Tech University. Lino was very proud of his children, grandchildren and all of his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include two sons, Lawrence J. Diaz and Oscar L. Diaz; one daughter, Debora A. Salazar; two grandchildren, Joseph L. Diaz and Mikayla R. Diaz; two step-grandchildren, Micah A. Rogers and Isaiah G. Rogers; two sisters, Hilaria (Lala) Loza, Maryrose Busch; three brothers, Felipe T. Diaz, Henry T. Diaz, Jesse T. Diaz; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Enrique V. and Martina Diaz; his wife, Elodia F. Diaz; two brothers, Catarino T. Diaz and Martin T. Diaz; one sister, Consuelo Medrano; and grandson, Jarod L. Salazar.
Pallbearers are Michael Sanchez, Jason Busch, Kamon Diaz, Brandon Diaz, Henry Loza, and T.J. Diaz Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Andrew Diaz, Xaviar Diaz, Drew Flores, Isaac Diaz and Anthony Diaz.
