Loretta Ann Phillips, age 66, was called home to her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 18, 2016. Loretta was born in Haskell, Texas to the late John Phillips, Sr. and Lillie Mae Adams. She worked for many years at the Abilene State Supported Living Center. Loretta was a very giving person and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She loved spending time with her brothers and was very dear to her nieces and nephews. She was very fun and active and always made sure she looked her very best.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, John Phillips, Sr. and Lillie Adams; and brothers, Jackie Phillips and John Phillips, Jr. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her brother, Ivory Phillips of Fort Worth; nephew, Nathan Mays of Abilene; niece, Timacka Phillips; step-father, Edward Hunter; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory Street. Funeral Services will be 11am Thursday, February 25, 2016 at the funeral home with burial following at the Abilene Municipal Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ivory Phillips, Nathan Mays, Michael Edwards, Larry Sapp and Ronald Martin.
