Madeene Edwards

Madeene Edwards, 89 passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2017. Funeral services will be 1:30p.m., Friday, June 16, 2017 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy 277 South with burial following in Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery. Viewing will be from 10:00a.m. – 5:00p.m. on Thursday with a visitation from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.

Madeene was born on January 23, 1928 in Antlers, OK to the late Otis and Mildred Bagwell. She married Walter Vernon Edwards in Abilene on June 11, 1978. Madeene was affiliated with the VFW and Hendrick Hospital Auxillary as well as a Gold Star Mother.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; her son, Douglas Presley McCorkle, Jr. who was killed while serving in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Vietnam, and a grandchild, Shannon Renee Tessier.

Daughter: Lacy Keller, children Kolby Mason, Harli Mason, and Lilli Keller, and great grandson 1 year old Beau Ray Teale.

5th Child - Youngest Son: Russell Earl McCorkle and wife Kathy McCorkle and sons Marshall McCorkle and wife Carolyn McCorkle and sons Darren and Lane all of Abilene TX. And Michael McCorkle of Carrollton TX.
