

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 10 AM at Sacred Heart in Abilene with Reverend Father Albert Ezeanya officiating. Visitation and viewing will be held on Thursday evening, May 15, 2025, at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home from 6-8:00 PM, Rosary to start at 7:00 PM.
Margarita – “Margie” – “Mommie Marge” was born in Ormoc City, Leyte Philippines to Emelio Ybanez Con-ui and Pacencia Bulacan Con-ui on March 5, 1941. Margie has lived an extraordinary life. Born in the Philippines, where she met her One True Love, Melton Jack Brown, her husband and best friend for over 63 years. They traveled the world together and during their travels they had two wonderful sons, Paul Edward Brown and William Andrew Brown.
Margie was best known for her Love and Devotion to Our Lord Jesus Christ, Love of her Family and Friends, and her most generous and caring heart. She devoted herself to the community of faith wherever she lived. Her passions in life included reading the Holy Bible, sharing fellowship with her family and friends, long walks on the beach and swimming in ANY ocean. She also shared a devotion to helping others and supporting her friends and anyone who needed help.
From her travels to the Holy Churches in Asia-Minor, the Holy Land, Touring around Europe, and constantly visiting her family in the Philippines, Margie was always the robust, energetic, and most excited person during any part of her travels.
Margie is survived by her husband and two sons. She is also survived by her three brothers, Manuel Con-ui and his wife Teresita Con-ui, Rufino Con-ui and his wife Aracely Con-ui, Cerilo Con-ui and his wife Beth Con-ui; her Grandson Alexander Chase Bear Brown; her four Beloved Daughters in-law, Jenny Rose Brown, Lauren Eileen Bear, Cathy Anne Presnick, and Kanjana Thonsoongnoen.
Memorial contributions can be made in her name to a local Catholic Church in Abilene.
