Marida Ausborn Faulks

Marida Ann Ausborn Faulks, known to those who loved her as Reta, went to be with our Lord on March 14, 2025, at Ballinger Memorial Hospital.

Born on March 16, 1951, in Abilene, Texas, Reta was the youngest of nine children until her little sister arrived a decade later. She married the love of her life, Tommy Faulks, on June 29, 1968, and together they built a life filled with love, hard work, and treasured memories. For over 50 years, they lived on the Hawley farm, raising cattle and crops, fishing in the creek, and embracing the beauty of country life.

Reta was happiest when surrounded by family. Whether spending weekends garage selling with her sisters, enjoying lively family gatherings, or sharing laughter with those she cherished, she found joy in togetherness. She had a deep love for dancing, drawing, and painting—God blessed her with many talents that she shared generously.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tommy Faulks; her parents, Floyd and Edith Ausborn; and her siblings, Hazel, Ines, Wilma, Bea, Jean, Tommy, and Sue.

She is survived by her loving sisters, Lois and Debbie, as well as several nieces and nephews who will forever cherish her warmth, creativity, and unwavering love.

Reta’s love, kindness, and creative spirit will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life for Marida will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Highway 277 South, Abilene, TX 79606. She will be laid to rest at Hawley Cemetery with her husband.
