A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Faith, 5701 Highway 277 South, Abilene, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home.
Marlene was born March 7, 1943 to Darryl Wallen and Eunice Christianson Wallen in Napa, California. She married Fred W. Ochs on April 15, 1961 in Reno, Nevada. Marlene spent 22 years traveling the country with her husband who was in the United States Air Force. Eventually, they settled in Abilene, Texas where they resided for over 35 years. Marlene was employed by K-Mart for 13 years and the Abilene Independent School District for 10 years. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Fred W. Ochs of Abilene; two sons, Fred D. Ochs and Darrell Ochs, both of Abilene; a brother, Ronald J. Wallen of Napa, California; grandchildren, Jason Sullivan, Jennifer Barnhill, Avery Ochs, and Darrell Ochs, Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Nathan Barnhill and J.C. Sullivan.
