

There will be a celebration of her life at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 29, 2010, at Baker Heights Church of Christ, 5382 Texas Avenue. Her son-in-law, Dr. Douglas Hall will officiate, assisted by grandson-in-law Damon Parker. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Sunday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Highway 277 South.
Martha was born December 6, 1922 to R.P. and Abbie Drennon in Denison, Texas. She moved to Abilene in 1948 with her husband, George, and raised her family. She worked in the cafeteria at Jefferson Middle School for 12 years. Martha was a faithful member of the Church of Christ, serving the Lord quietly in many ways, such as baking cookies for the children at church. She volunteered at Meals-on-Wheels until her death. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life. Martha also enjoyed playing cards and working puzzles with her close friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, George Moore; two sons, Paul and Phil Moore; and brother, Bob Drennon and his wife Ann.
Those left to cherish her memory include daughter, Carole Hall and husband Doug of Brenham, daughter, Robbie Burleson of Abilene, and daughter-in-law, Sherry Moore of Abilene; grandchildren, Melody Parker and husband Damon, Brad Hall and wife Cindy, Caleb Hall, Marisa Moore, Nathan Burleson, and Sarah Yeates and husband Jeremy; adored great-grandchildren, Grant, Madelyn, Jackson, Logan, Savannah, Bethany, Jarin, Alex, Alana, Izzy, and Aiden; nieces, Pam, Cindy, Polly, and families; and many special friends.
The family suggests memorial gifts be sent to Meals-on-Wheels, Plus grocery pantry, P.O. Box 903, Abilene, TX 76904.
