Mary Elizabeth Burnett

On June 1, 2016 Mary Elizabeth Pledger Hill Burnett, 90, went home to be with her Lord and Savior. Elizabeth was born February 13, 1926 in Paris, TX. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Hill in 1962; and her sister, Elaine Russell in 1975. Elizabeth was a retired teacher of the HEB School System for 15 years. She then served 12 years as an executive secretary for American Airlines Sky Chef.

She is survived by four children, Jean Meers and husband, Larry of Abilene, Jimmy Hill and wife, Beverly of Hurst, TX, Dian Bristow and husband, Bill of Aubrey, TX, and Becky Conner and husband, Mike of Arlington, TX; ten grandchildren, Kyle Meers, Libbie Meers Nickell, Michael Ferguson, Mark Ferguson, John Ferguson, James Hill, Chris Hill, Ryan Bristow, Bradley Bristow, Jordan Bristow Kirk; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, June 3, 2016 from 6p.m. – 7p.m. at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St., Abilene. Funeral services will be held in Bedford, Texas at the First Baptist Church of Bedford, 2045 Bedford Rd. on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 10:00a.m. with a short viewing at 9:30a.m. Graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Paris, TX later the same afternoon at 3:00p.m.
