Megan graduated from Abilene High School in May 2009.
Throughout her life, she worked as a waitress at several restaurants, a job she truly enjoyed. She loved the people she met along the way and made many sweet friends, especially during her time living in Seguin, Texas, where she called a little farmhouse home just down the road from the café where she loved working.
Above all, Megan loved her daughter and her family deeply. Her faith in Jesus was an important part of her life, and she wanted others to know Him and experience His love as she did. She had a special heart for those who were struggling, especially individuals facing alcoholism and addiction. She helped many people through difficult times and hoped to become a certified addiction counselor, with the dream of working with incarcerated women and offering them hope for a better future.
Megan loved studying the Bible through the Bible 365 app and was a member of Compass Bible Church in New Braunfels, Texas, where she cherished her life group and the friendships she built. She loved decorating for every holiday she could, playing Texas Hold ’Em with her family, and tubing down the river in New Braunfels. Whether she was spending time with loved ones, making new friends, or helping someone through a difficult season, Megan had a heart for people and a desire to make a difference in their lives.
She is survived by her parents, Toney Dale Claxton and Sherry Lynn “Seals” Claxton; her beloved daughter, Layla Grace Jackson; her sister, Kimee Meyer, and brother-in-law, Kevin Meyer; her brother, Brandon Claxton, and sister-in-law, Michelle Claxton; her paternal grandparents, Jerry Lee Claxton and Dolores Jeanne Hoffman Claxton; her nieces, Aviie Grace and Judith Rose; her nephews, Caleb, Cash, Carter, and Tre; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, James Don Seals; her maternal grandmother, Maryann Ford Seals; and her beloved aunt, Kelly Ann Seals Wolfe.
