Frances French Smauley, 87, of Sweetwater, passed away Friday, September 2, 2011, in a medical center in Sweetwater, Texas. Funeral services are 1:00p.m. Friday, September 9, 2011 at Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Texas with Mike Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy 277 South. A visitation will be from 6 to 8p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Frances was born June 19, 1924 to Luther and Gordy (Kennedy) Thompson in Potosi, TX. She was a long time resident of Abilene, TX, living the past ten years in Sweetwater. Frances was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Preceding her in death are two husbands, T.G. Pruitt and Bob French; and her parents, Luther and Gordy Thompson.
Survivors include her husband, John Smauley; two sons, Darrell Pruitt and wife, Linda of Divide, Colorado and Stanley Pruitt and wife Jennifer of McKinney, TX; grandchildren, Chad Pruitt, Curtis Pruitt, Elizabeth Davis, Amanda Wilson, Tyler Pruitt, David Pruitt, Terry Pruitt and Lana Johnson; and nine great-grandchildren.
