Misty was born on January 5, 1974, in Abilene to David and Angela Basso Fannin. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1992 and attended Colorado Technical University.
She was always a loving person, putting others before herself. She was self-employed and worked diligently to provide for her family, most of the time working long hours with no days off. She enjoyed spending time with her sons and grandson, and she liked fishing with them, especially those times when her catch was the biggest! There were three things that Misty was obsessed with: the color purple, white tigers and her loved ones. Of all her roles and pleasures in life, her favorites were being Mom and Gammy.
Misty was preceded in death by her mother Angela Fannin; grandmother, Sugar Basso; grandparents Harley and Bessie Fannin; and uncle, Clifford Basso.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are sons, Tyler Hutchins and Austin Petty; grandson, Brantlee Petty; father, David Fannin; Auntie, Beth Butler; uncle, Terry Fannin; and her “girls,” Squeaky and Aurora.
A visitation is scheduled on Saturday, February 19, at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 U.S. Highway 277 South, Abilene, from 12:00-1:30 PM. Graveside inurnment will follow at 2:00 PM at Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories.
