Morris Wayne Roberts, 79, of Abilene passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 in the Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory St. with burial following in Hamby Cemetery. Acting as pallbearers will be Billy Fields, David Gannaway, Roy Dudgeon, Gary Collins, David Biggs, Tracey Dowell, Kenneth McKelvain, and Joseph Kitchens. Burl McWilliams will be an honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 6 to 8pm Friday evening at the funeral home.
Morris was born on September 6, 1938 to Monroe and Jewel Roberts. He was a beloved husband for 57 years and a loving daddy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Clifford Roberts; and sisters, Jewel Fay Mangum and Louise Isom.
Survivors include his wife, Frankie Marie Roberts; daughters, Kimberly Marie Rodgers and husband Scott and Lisa Rene Roberts; sisters, Bertha Reynolds, Carolyn Roberts, Jeanie Ramirez, and Jewel Dean Gray; brother, J.O. Roberts.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hendrick Hospice.
