

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church, with Reverend Jack Ridlehoover, Reverend Stan Allcorn, and Dr. Jeff Reid officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Highway 277 South. The family will receive friends at a visitation 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2011, at the funeral home.
Vydell was born June 23, 1926 to Mandy Lee (Loggins) and Robert B. Brown in Weatherford, Texas. She received her master's degree from Hardin-Simmons College (now University). Vydell taught school, retiring after 31 years. She was a teacher for two years in Dennis, four years in Rotan, and 25 years in Abilene at Bonham Elementary. Vydell was a member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was involved in the Nursing Home Ministry. She enjoyed socializing with the Primetimers. Vydell was kind, gentle, and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, John Grant; and her second husband, Troy Noland.
Survivors include two sons, Jim Grant and wife, Elise, and Robert Grant and wife, Brenda; a daughter, Gayle Bailey and husband, Mark; a brother, John E. Brown and wife, Rama; two sisters, Rutha Linehan and Bobbie Ball; grandchildren, Brian and Eric Grant, Lawson and Rachel Bailey; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses at Hendrick Hospice and Dr. Trouth.
