Patricia M. Swiney

Patricia M. Swiney, 80, passed away on Monday May 9, 2016 in Abilene. Graveside services will be held at 10:00a.m. on Friday May 13, 2016 in Abilene Municipal Cemetery. A pot-luck luncheon will be held at Crescent Heights Baptist Church,1902 N Mockingbird Ln, immediately following the graveside service. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:30p.m. to 8:30p.m. at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory Street. She was born in Strawn, TX to Bill Fowler and Leola Crain Fowler. Patricia attended schools in Jacksboro, TX and married James L. Swiney on March 5, 1955 in Weatherford, TX.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, James; her son-in-law, David DelHierro, Jr.; brothers, Bunk Fowler and John Fowler; and a sister, Joy Fowler Terrell.

Survivors include her sons, Bill and wife, Kim of Abilene and Jim and wife, Jennifer of Sherman; daughters, Rebecca Stevenson and husband, David of Brownfield, TX, Millie Steinman and husband, Randy of Abilene, and Shawnna and husband, Tony of New Braunfels, TX; a brother-in-law, Frank Terrell of Sherman, TX; a sister, Sandra Bumpass and husband, Joe of Sherman, TX; grandchildren, Kristi (Jon) Brokaw, Whitney Swiney, Dave (Sarah) Stevenson, Jr., Camryn Olivia, Jacob Ray DelHierro, Stacy Swindle, Jr., Landon (Lesley) Thomas, Shiala (Mark) Davis, Brennan Thomas, Timothy Swindle, Amie (Nick) Hazlett, Jake (Addie) Mendoza, Jeremy Bricker, and Erin Mendoza; great-grandchildren, Lorelei Honor, Michaela Joy Hazlett, Benjamin, June, and one on the way Brokaw, Ryder Bricker, Andrew Mendoza, Mason, Kauner, and Paisley Thomas, and Ari'yanna and McKynlee Davis; many special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins whom she loved and adored.
