A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, Abilene, with Rudy Fambrough and Bill Dickson officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home.

Tish was a long-time employee of American Electric, starting with West Texas Utilities in 1983 when she and her husband moved to Abilene. Tish and Mark were charter members of Countryside Baptist Church in Merkel, Texas and former members of First Baptist Church in Merkel where she and her husband taught the young married couples' class and Mark was part-time music director. Tish and Mark were "happy campers" who loved to take the grandchildren on RV trips. She loved the beach and spending time with their three grandchildren. Tish was a special person who never met a stranger. She loved people, enjoyed talking to them about any topic, and loved to laugh. Tish will be missed.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Mark Walters; their son, Todd and his wife, Tanya, and their three children, Ashlyn, Garin, and Payton who were the three biggest blessings of her life. Also surviving are her sisters, Paula Sue Phillips of Westin, Missouri, Pamela Morgret of Decatur, Illinois, Kimberly Varady and Lucinda Harper, both of Leawood, Kansas; and her brothers, James Schneider of Decatur, Illinois and Thomas Schneider of Kansas City, Missouri; as well as, numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved very much and in whom she took great pride.
