

Patsy "Mema" Varnell passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at home with family peacefully in her sleep. Her mission here with us has been completed and was called home to become another guardian angel watching over us.
Patsy was born in Abilene on November 24, 1946 to Clyde and Annie Belle Johnson.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, Gene Varnell. Patsy is survived by two daughters; Tammy Hicks and husband, Tommy Ocon, and Cynthia M. Lopez; eight grandchildren; Daniel, Michael, Cicily, Chris, Jacole, Kandice, Alexia and Destiny; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers for the family are Daniel Hicks, Chris Hicks, Richard Duhamel, John Richards, and WT Miller.
Funeral services will be 1:00p.m., Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Trinity Church of the Nazarene, 3302 State St. with burial following in Potosi Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy 277 South. Patsy Varnell, 70, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017 in Abilene.
