Richard Frank Perkins

December 7, 1946 – November 5, 2025

Richard Perkins was born on December 7, 1946, in Sonoma, California, to Bruce and Ella Perkins. Richard showed a strong need to be a provider for his wife and family, and was a dependable friend; qualities that guided him throughout his life.

He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he rose to the rank of Senior Master Sergeant.

In 1968, Richard married the love of his life, Jean Elizabeth “Liz” Taylor on the island of Okinawa. Their 46 years of marriage were filled with traveling to visit family,and deep devotion. Together, they built a life centered on honesty, family, and friendship.

After retiring from the Air Force, Richard continued to work hard as a truck driver, finding peace and joy in the open road, often with Liz by his side.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Ella Perkins, step-father Ernest Affrancino, his brother, Ed Perkins, and his beloved wife, Liz.

He is survived by his children, Pamela Adams and husband Norman Adams of Cisco, TX;Ronald Perkins and wife, Rossana Costa-Perkins of Waco, TX; his eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren . His legacy will live on through them and through the many lives he touched.

Richard will be remembered for his fatherly advice, loving support as well as his willingness to allow his children to make their own life decisions. His strength, warmth, and wisdom will continue to guide those who knew and loved him.

Though his earthly journey has ended, his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to share in his life. All will celebrate his reunion with his sweetheart, Liz.

A memorial service will be held at the Texas State Veterans' Cemetery of Abilene, located at 4757 W Lake Rd, Abilene, Texas, 79601, United States. The service is scheduled for November 12, 2025, at 11:00 am.
