Robert was born on July 14, 1982. He was raised by his parents, Thomas and Mecca (Merriman) Darby in Abilene, Texas. He attended local schools graduating from Abilene High School. We went on to attend Texas Tech University in Lubbock. He worked in several restaurants, working the longest at Szechuan. He eventually started his own construction maintenance company Quantum Painting. He enjoyed golf, fishing, cooking and playing with his beloved dog.
He will be remembered for his friendly disposition. He relished in moments he could share his convictions and opinions on matters that were important to him. He enjoyed conversations with his father regarding politics.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jackson Murray Bowman; brother, Jon Bowman; maternal grandparents, James and Charlene Merriman; paternal grandmother, Clara Darby.
He is survived by his parents; Thomas and Mecca Darby; his dog, Charlie; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The family will celebrate his life privately.
