A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be determined.
Rodney was born on January 27, 1962 in Great Falls, Montana to Vernon Russell and Margaret Frances (Swan) Hill. He was a graduate of Cooper High School. He was a kindhearted, simple man who had a great, infectious smile.
An extremely generous man, Rodney would help anyone he could, and his dry but hilarious sense of humor could always make people laugh. He loved beer and BBQ’s, but he hated shoes and was known to be barefoot or in flip-flops even in the dead of winter. He loved his family and friends, and always had a positive attitude. He was a great listener and a friend to many. He owned his own Automotive Restoration company, Rodney’s Restorations at Sudden Impact Collision, and made countless friends through his dealings with his customers. He loved restoring and collecting cars, Nascar races, football games, and visiting Austin and Fredericksburg, Texas as often as he could.
Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Russell and Margaret Frances Hill.
Left to cherish his memory are the love of his life, his wife of 16 years in love and laughter, Traci Hill of Abilene; daughter, Jennifer Pacheco and husband Casey and their children Tiegan and Cannon, all of Abilene; daughter, Linda Marie Hill of Austin; stepson, Justin Farmer and wife Marissa and grandchildren Piper Sue Farmer, whom affectionately named him Grandpa-pa; stepdaughter, Peyton Oles of Denton, Texas; stepson, Levi Berry of Abilene; his beloved dog, Chief, whom he loved almost as much as his family; a niece, many aunts, uncles and cousins from all over; and many good friends, including two great friends, Charles Boyd of Abilene and Aubrey White of Baird, Texas.
