

Rodney (Gruff) Williams, 43, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2012, in a local medical center. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2012, at Emmanuel Community Church, 826 Hickory Street, Abilene. Burial will follow in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a visitation 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 North 2nd, Abilene.
Rodney was born November 14, 1968 in Abilene to Thelma Williams and Marvin Daniels. He worked for Jordan Health Care Services. Rodney never met a stranger. He loved barbequing and always wanted everyone to sample his food. Rodney was a comedian and the life of the party because he loved to make people laugh. Wherever he was you could count on laughing. His family and friends loved being around him and there was nothing Rodney couldn't fix.
Preceding him in death were his grandfather, Emmitt Williams, Sr.; uncles, Emmitt Williams, Jr., Raygene Williams, Richard Williams, Floyd Green, Jr., Verlie Williams, E.L. Williams; and aunts, Ida Bell Williams and Beatrice McDow.
He leaves behind his parents, Thelma Williams Webber and Marvin Daniels; stepfather, Aaron Webber (who raised him); two sons, Terrell Neal and Malik Williams both of Abilene; daughter, Alexis Williams of Sweetwater; two grandsons, Te'najh and Tre'chun; three brothers, Ramone Murray, Charles Jackson, and Bobby Sutton; dear friend, Myron Cumby; grandparents, Lillian Williams and Anne Lois Williams; five uncles, Jesse Williams and Don Williams of Abilene, Bill Williams of Grand Prairie, Billy Don Daniels and Rick Green of Houston; nine aunts, Carla Elamin and Altus Williams of Grand Prairie, Dorothy Green of Houston, Rene Wilcox of Arlington, Opal Gary, Debra Bryant, Regina Williams and Sandra Green all of Abilene; special friend, LaDonna Summers; friend, Rachel Bennett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
