Stuart was born on April 26, 1961 in Lubbock to his loving parents, Roger and Carol(Crawford) Pettiet. He was raised around Hockley County. The family moved to Shallowater in 1967 where he graduated from Shallowater High School in 1979. As a mere toddler, his love for ranching was cultivated under the watchful eye of his beloved Papa Crawford. As he grew up, he participated in many rodeos as a bull rider. He later went on to become a Police officer in Lubbock, serving his community for 8 years. He moved to his farm in Anson in 2010 and was a rancher until he passed away. He possessed an adventurous, free spirited personality, always ready to engage someone in one of his many stories. He loved his family deeply and was very proud of his only son. At the age of nine, he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. While his passing leaves a void, precious memories and the joy of being reunited one day fill it.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, C.C. and Ruby Pettiet; his maternal grandparents, Harvey and Ruth Crawford.
He is survived by his son, Clayton Sean Pettiet and his wife Trish; his parents, Roger and Carol Pettiet; his sister, Vickie Boykin; 2 nieces, and 1 nephew; a host of loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by many special friends who were blessed to have known him and be a part of his life.
