Rong He, age 97, of Abilene, Texas passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025. He was born on October 28, 1928 in Yiyang, China to his parents, He Dihua and Liu Xiaoyun. He was an agricultural scientist and lived and raised his family for many years in China before relocating to Abilene in 2015. He was the oldest retired researcher at his work. He loved fishing and cooking for his family and playing mahjong. He met his sweetheart Shuyun Xia in 1951 and married her on August 15th 1952. They have been married for 73 years!

He is survived by his wife, Shuyan Xia; his son, Xiawei He and his wife, Deng Hong Lan;daughters, Xiayu He Mitchell and her husband, Bruce; Xiaqi He Kasparek and her husband, Kelly;grandchildren, Ashley Shuzhu He Rinicker and her husband Scott, Shan He and wife, Dan Dan Luo, Kai Lai He and Le Qing Sun; great-grandchildren, Sophie Tianci He-Rinicker, Lily Marie Tianen He-Rinicker and Tang Yue He.

The family will hold a private burial in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories.
