Rosa Lee Munson

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at Community Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 1443 North 2nd Street, Abilene, with Pastor L.W. Hutchinson and Pastor Leon Whaley officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, directed by Community Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at a visitation 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2012, at the funeral home.

Rosa was born April 1, 1919 to Bruce Giddings and Betty (Steele) Giddings in Robertson County, Texas. She was employed by Abilene State School until her retirement. Mother enjoyed playing Bingo. She was a great cook, especially sweet potato pie.

Rosa was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Jeanette; a granddaughter, Tonia Walker; a daughter-in-law, Vera; two brothers, William and Willie; one sister, Pleasanna; one great-grandson, Kemont Munson; and one great-great-granddaughter, Anaiece Taylor.

Survivors include a son, John Munson of Midland, Texas; a daughter, Heloise Munson of Abilene; a brother, Finch Giddings of Arlington, Texas; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; thirty-seven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
