Rosie Mary Murillo Diaz, 68, of Abilene passed away on Saturday January 13, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 9am on Friday January 19, 2018 at St. Francis Catholic Church. Burial will follow at 11am at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery. A Rosary will be held at 7pm on Thursday evening at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, located at 5701 Hwy 277 South. Serving as pallbearers will be Edward Diaz Jr, Elias Diaz-Tellez, Matthew Trevino, Brandon Trevino, Mosaic Diaz and Lorenzo Zapata.
Rosie was born on May 15, 1949 to Jose and Julia Murillo. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Noah Murillo; and granddaughter, Honey Perez.
Survivors include her husband, Edward Diaz Sr.; son, Edward Diaz Jr; daughters, Tina Zapata and Anita Diaz; brothers, Jose Murillo Jr and Daniel Murillo; sisters, Eva Murillo, Maria Rivero and Julia Chavarria; and 11 grandchildren.
