Ruby Bruno

The family moved to Texas about a year later. Ruby attended school in Abilene and graduated from Abilene High School in 1945. She worked as a switchboard telephone operator. She married Frank Fujita on the 15th of November in 1958. They had a motor home and traveled extensively until Frank died in 1996.

Ruby was an avid square dance participant and a long time member of the Abilene Area Square and Round Dance Association. She was a volunteer worker in the Abilene Police Department for fifteen years. She also worked and supported the Abilene Meals on Wheels organization. Ruby married Dennison Bruno on January 10, 2001.

She is survived by her husband; sisters, Lucile Schoekert and Elizabeth Stricker; and numerous other relatives. Ruby was a member of the Discovery Bible Church.

A visitation for Ruby will be held Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Highway 277 South, Abilene, Texas. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home.
