

Sharon was born on December 13, 1943 in Denton, Texas to the late Harold Altheus Duncan and Peggy Louise (Yerby) Duncan. She grew up and attended school in Denton. Sharon enjoyed several careers to include James Bowie Elementary School and working at a shop on the square in Downtown Denton. She married James Everett Horton and together they built a life and beautiful memories. Sharon loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She cherished the simple pleasures such as antiquing, reading, and watching old movies. She will be remembered for her fun, somewhat mischievous and spunky personality. She had a wonderful ability to show compassion when those she loved needed it.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Thomas Eric Blanks.
She leaves to cherish precious memories her husband, James Everett Horton; her sister, Joy Johns and husband Dee; her sons, Todd Leroy Blanks and wife Cassye and Lance Wade Blanks and wife, Colleen; her daughter-in-law, Jeanine Blanks; her grandchildren, Macenzye Snyder, Madyson Cox, Holden Blanks, Hollis Blanks, Landon Blanks, and Laursen Nguyen; great-grandchildren, Quayt Snyder, Quiglye Snyder, Tynslee Cox, Carter Cox, Badger Cox and Dandy Cox; nieces and nephews, Brad Fowler, Rick Fowler, Jeff Blanks, and Lisa Pipkin.
