Sharon Marie Imus, 82, of Mound House, NV, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025 in Abilene, TX. Known as "Chicky" to her brothers and sisters, she was born on May 13, 1943 in Bishop, CA to the late Telly Oscar Imus and Clarice Lucille McIntyre. Although she retired from the Carson City Parks & Recreation Department in 2008, Sharon spent much of her life sewing and stitching, both for the love of it and as a living. She owned and operated Stitchin’ Post Designs, designing and manufacturing her needlework kits. She graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh at the age of 69 with a focus on Digital Design to support the modernization of her business. She attended Bread of Life Christian Church in Mound House, NV for 18 years.
She is survived by her children, Craig Imus-Bird, Chris Bird and wife Charbell, Joel Bird and wife Batsheva, Bernadine Parker and husband James, and Levi Escareno; twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, with three more on the way; brothers, Richard Imus and wife Charlene, Terry Imus and wife Mickey, Hiram Imus and wife Betsy, William Imus and wife Wendy, and Steve Imus and wife Carol; sisters, Linda Gottschalk, Suzette Chaney and husband Dennis, Judy Elfving and husband Sven, and Katie Maryon. She was preceded in death by one sister, Bonnie Naillon.
A Memorial Service will be held at Truby Church of Christ in Hawley, TX on July 12th, 2025 at 1 PM CT. The service will be livestreamed so that all who are unable to travel can attend. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Sharon. This was a cause that she cared about deeply after losing her sweet sister to Alzheimer's in 2010.
