Sharon was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma on June 12, 1947, to Eskel Oren and Norene Agnes (Jones) Essary. Sharon was an only child. She attended and graduated from Blacksburg High School in Blacksburg, Virginia. She married Donald Arthur Nissen on December 27, 1995.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Don; her three daughters, Tamara Delaplane (Ross) of Dolores, CO, Heather Flores (Rob) of Houston, TX and Amanda Galyardt(Adam); four grandchildren, Tristan Boothby & Caitlyn Boothby of Grant’s Pass, OR and Mya Galyardt & Alayna Galyardt of Clyde, TX.

Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Broadview Baptist Church 2700 S. in Abilene at 11:00 AM. Following the memorial service the family invites you to join them for lunch in the church fellowship area. She will be laid to rest privalt at the Texas State
