Shayla Kaylynn Peacock

A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home 5701 Hwy. 277 S. Abilene, Texas 79606. The family will receive friends prior to service from 1-2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel.

Shayla was born on February 4, 1975 in Perryton, Texas to the late Larry Joe Greeson and Shirley Jo (Blackshear) Greeson. She grew up in Perryton where she attended school until transferring to Dumas were she graduated from high school. Shayla began her professional career early on as a paralegal. During this time, Shayla entered into motherhood with the birth of her daughter, Fable. She married the love of her life Sammy Don Peacock on September 2, 2006. The next year they welcomed a son Shaler. Shayla was devoted to her family and the care of her children; as well as, to helping her husband with his business Superior Systems and Technology in Merkel. After the death of her husband, Shayla did not shirk the challenge but took the reins of the business and became the owner.

Shayla enjoyed traveling and creating unique memories with her family. She bonded with her children over anything Marvel and recently with her son over Shelby Mustangs. Her passing brings to a close the life of an adventurous, sometimes complicated women whose very presence demanded respect. She experienced her fair share of challenges; however, her inner determination, wisdom, and Christian faith got her through.

She was preceded in death by her father and her beloved husband Sammy Peacock.

She leaves the following to cherish precious memories: her children, Fable Peacock, and Shaler Peacock; her mother, Shirley Bowman; her brother, Chad Greeson; in-laws, Brenda Sue Peacock, George Jr. Peacock and Ricky Peacock; numerous nieces, nephews, professional colleagues and friends.

Shayla was deeply patriotic and grateful for local law enforcement. In her honor the family wishes to thank them for their service.
